Annual Meeting of IMI and RAHO Club: Synergy for Progress Together
Surabaya, February 25, 2025 - The Indonesian Molecular Institute (IMI) and the Reverse Aging and Homeostasis (RAHO) Club held their annual board meeting, focusing on strengthening the collaboration between IMI and RAHO Club. The meeting was attended by Prof. Sutiman Bambang Sumitro, SU., D.Sc as an advisor to IMI, Mr. Kan Eddy as the General Chairman of RAHO Club, dr. Subagjo, Sp.B, Sp.BTKV, Subsp.VE (K), FIATCVS as the head of clinical research, dr. Tirtahamidjaja Rahardja, Sp.B, FINACS as the daily executive chairman of RAHO, dr. Aditya Tri Hernowo, Ph.D as the Head of the Research and Development Division of IMI-RAHO Club, and RAHO Club advisor who is also the General Chairman of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PJI), Hartanto Boechori, along with other board members of IMI and RAHO Club.
RAHO's Progress and Future Plans
In this meeting, Mr. Kan Eddy briefly explained the rapid growth of RAHO Club and the increasing prevalence of stroke cases in Indonesia each year. According to the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey, the prevalence of stroke in Indonesia reached 8.3 per 1,000 population. This alarming statistic led to the establishment of a new division called ISTRI (Indonesia Stroke Recovery Initiation), initiated by dr. Aditya Tri Hernowo, Ph.D, to address the rising number of stroke patients in Indonesia.
dr. Tirtahamidjaja Rahardja, Sp.B, FINACS, emphasized the importance of nanobubbles in the body, particularly for stroke patients, explaining that nano-sized HHO bubbles can penetrate micro-blood vessels affected by blockages and potentially dissolve them. The formation of this new division aims to enhance RAHO’s contributions to public health in Indonesia.
IMI’s Achievements and Progress
During the meeting, Prof. Sutiman expressed his support for RAHO’s development, stating that "Innovative ideas in the healthcare sector like this are expected to benefit the people of Indonesia." The advancement of health-related ideas brings numerous benefits, including improved medical services, better disease prevention, and cost efficiency in healthcare, ultimately contributing to a reduced mortality rate and increased life expectancy. With these advancements, the healthcare system becomes more effective, affordable, and capable of providing better services to the broader community.
The head of clinical research, dr. Subagjo, revealed that IMI is conducting research to evaluate the benefits of nano-bubbles for various diseases, especially degenerative diseases. These diseases receive special attention as they significantly lower the quality of life for patients. Moreover, degenerative diseases are closely related to life span in Indonesia, which remains relatively lower compared to developed countries. Thus, this research aims to reduce mortality rates, enhance quality of life, and improve healthcare cost efficiency and social well-being.
Prof. Sutiman also added that IMI is expanding its reach by partnering with two leading universities in Indonesia to collaborate on research projects. This synergy enables stronger research-based innovation, enhancing the quality and credibility of scientific findings. Furthermore, this collaboration opens opportunities for students and academics to engage in real-world projects. IMI also benefits from the expertise of academics and the research facilities of these universities to support the development of more effective technologies and solutions. Through this partnership, groundbreaking discoveries are expected to emerge, benefiting society and advancing scientific knowledge in Indonesia.
As a strategic step forward, IMI and RAHO Club also agreed to strengthen their consolidation to enhance synergy. This will be achieved through more intensive coordination, improved communication, and joint programs designed to increase member involvement in various activities. With this synergy, IMI and RAHO Club aim to support each other in achieving their shared vision and mission.
